Motorcycling Courses in ACT & NSW

NSW motorcycle training course

1 hour Slow Motorcycle Riding Course

Slow riding is an everyday part of riding a motorcycle from parking, moving off and turning straight away, U-turns and even straight line in heavy traffic.

Don't worry, whether you're a highly experienced rider or new to riding, this is a skill that many riders struggle with. It is also an area where riders can unintentionally put themselves at risk if they're not using the most effective techniques.

Revolution Rider Training is conducting some short training courses to help you with this skill. The courses will be relaxed, fun and conducted in a manner to help you identify your strengths and areas for improvement.

There is no assessment or outcomes to achieve, it is simply an opportunity to have a professional riding instructor observe and coach you.

The senior instructor on the day has over 9 years experience as an accredited senior motorcycle instructor and is accredited in ACT, NSW and QLD.

As with all courses Revolution Rider Training conducts, it is about you. The focus will be entirely on helping you to build your confidence and skills and your current experience and skill level will always be taken into account. Come to as many of these courses as you like. Motorcyclists can never develop their skills too much.

The course is available Sunday 3rd September at 10.30am and Sunday 17th September at 10.30am, the course cost is $10.  Location:  CTP, Block D 49 Phillip Avenue, WATSON, ACT, 2602

Q-Ride restricted RE course

1 hour Motorcycle Braking Course

We think you would agree that braking is an essential, and critical skill when operating any vehicle, but motorcycles in particular represent some additional challenges when braking.

As you know during braking motorcycles need to be balanced, have much less grip between the tyres and the road and the change in weight distribution under heavy braking in particular needs to be controlled.

Braking is also a skill that needs to be practiced continuously as a rider to ensure that the motorcycle is always under full control, particularly in an emergency where there is no room for error. But if you think about it, how often do we take 10 minutes out to go and practice our braking?

Revolution Rider Training is offering 1-hour courses to help riders develop their braking techniques. The courses are conducted in a pressure free environment, focussing on the most effective braking technique on the road both for ordinary and emergency braking. You will not be assessed and the environment will be fun and relaxed.

You will be taken through a discussion on the most effective braking technique, you will practice it and will be coached to help you identify how you're going and what you can do to get even better at it.

The course will focus on you and will take into account your current level of experience and knowledge. It doesn't matter if you've only just got your learners permit or if you've been riding for years.

Motorcyclists can never be too good at braking!

The senior instructor on the day has over 9 years experience as an accredited senior motorcycle instructor and is accredited in ACT, NSW and QLD.

The course is available Sunday 3rd September at 12.30pm and Sunday 17th September at 12.30pm, the course cost is $10.  Location:  CTP, Block D 49 Phillip Avenue, WATSON, ACT, 2602

Q-Ride unrestricted (R) course

2 hour Motorcycle Cornering Course

Cornering a motorcycle is one of the most enjoyable aspect of riding. It doesn't matter whether you're a long distance rider or just commute to work.

However, corners are where most motorcycle crashes occur and usually there is only one vehicle involved, which means the rider has made a mistake.

Let's be honest, we all make mistakes, but the less we make the better off we are. Revolution Rider Training is offering a 2-hour cornering course that will cover all the aspects of cornering we need to know for riding on the road:

  • Managing vision
  • Preparation for corners
  • The safe path through a corner
  • The "vanishing point"
  • Throttle control

To get the best practice this course will be conducted on the road in real corners. There will be discussions and lots of opportunity for practice.

Once we can apply a consistent system for cornering which improves our vision, lane position and comfort then we just become more confident and our riding enjoyment just gets better and better.

The course will be conducted in a stress free manner, encouraging everyone to enjoy it, share their knowledge and experiences with coaching included.

We can only take six riders per course though to ensure the instructor can observe and coach everyone, so you will need to register early.

The senior instructor on the day has over 9 years experience as an accredited senior motorcycle instructor and is accredited in ACT, NSW and QLD.

The course is available Sunday 3rd September at 2.30pm and Sunday 17th September at 2.30pm, the course cost is $20.  Location meeting point:  Car park at Cotter Campground, Cotter Road, Coree, ACT, 2611

Q-Ride unrestricted (R) course

3 hour Motorcycle Road Riding Course

Well, we're all road riders aren't we? We know that riding on the road represents a completely different set of dangers and challenges to the off road and racing environment.

Road Riders not only have to develop good motorcycle control skills but also need to develop a strong system of identifying what they're approaching and put actions in place early to manage the multitude of riding scenarios they encounter. Revolution Rider Training is offering this 3-hour course that will introduce you to the most common crash types motorcyclists experience and simple, pro-active techniques that you can apply to reduce your chance of being involved in one of them.

The course is designed to take you from a level of riding where you are responding to things that happen around you, to a higher level of riding where have already planned and implemented actions beforethings happen. We call this pro-active riding.

Once you can master pro-active riding you will enjoy your time on the road much more. You will be more relaxed and confident and will be a far "smoother" and composed rider because you are ready well in advance for everything. Every aspect of your riding will improve.

This is a course not to be missed. It is suitable for every road rider, whether you're a learner rider or an experienced one.

As with all courses we run you will find it fun, relaxed and based around helping each other to learn and improve. Coaching will be provided to help you build and develop your skills.

The senior instructor on the day has over 9 years experience as an accredited senior motorcycle instructor and is accredited in ACT, NSW and QLD.

The course is available Saturday 27th August at 10.30am, Saturday 2nd September at 10.30am and Saturday 16th September at 10.30am the course cost is $30.  Location meeting point: Car park at  Canberra Technology Park, 49 Phillip Avenue, WATSON, ACT, 2602
